Munster Warriors were formed in 2009 as a combination of players from Cork and Limerick many of whom had played as part of the Cork Druids and Limerick teams the the previous year. We now play our home games at the University of Limerick sports complex.
Our first season, got off to a great start winning the Baseball Ireland 'Start of Season Blitz'. From there we went from strength to strength competing in our first full season in the B-League. Finishing the season undefeated, we went into the playoffs seeking a spot in the A-League. The final game of the season against the Hurricanes went down to the last inning, and in the end the Hurricanes couldn't match us. In the end the season was a great success as we went undefeated with a record of 12-0.
The 2010 season was a hard fought year. There were a lot of setbacks, injuries and as a result we had to to concede a few walkovers. We finished outside the playoff spot, but we learned a lot in our first season in the A-League.
Last year we made the playoffs for the first time. Unfortunately we lost to the Belfast Northstars, in a hard fought game.
The 2012 season looks like it is going to be a good year for the Warriors. We have recruited a lot of new players and are looking to set up a second team.
We are a very social club with age ranges from 16-42. We are always looking for new recruits of all abilities who are interested in playing baseball either competitively or socially. If you would like to get in touch with us please email or leave a message.
